Multihull Pioneer Jim Brown Interviews Lyles Forbes

In this sample audio clip, Jim interviews Lyles Forbes, who is the chief curator at the Mariners’ Museum, in Newport News, Virginia. This short mp3 features a portion of the entire interview, where Lyles shares here about an exhibition that is (at the time of this recording) about to be opened at the museum, which offers some incredible stories of survival after the sailors had to abandon ship at sea.

During the entire interview, Jim and Lyles discuss the history of multihulls and the collection of multihull history that the Mariners’ Museum has been able to gather together thus far. (As you’ll hear, they’ve even been able to refer to it in order to help self-boatbuilders in recent years).

If you’re wondering whether or not this audio might be worthwhile, let me say that if the idea of being tossed around in 70-foot seas blows your mind, then you definitely want to check it out. :-)

The complete interview is a part of the series entitled, Multihull Conversations with Jim Brown.
