Jim Brown Talks to Trimaran Sailor Larry of the Vessel Named HYBEA

In this sample audio clip, multihull pioneer Jim Brown speaks to fellow who has both built and sailed his own cruising trimaran.  This audio features Jim's guest Larry (last name withheld upon request) of the good ship HYBEA.

Larry talks in this clip about how he got into boats and then eventually discovered multihulls.  He shares what attracted him to multis and then tells the story of how he found out about a class being taught by Jim Brown and John Marples at the WoodenBoatSchool in Maine during the late 1980s.

That particular boat-building class featured a technique called "Constant Camber."  (Jim was one of its major developers.)  And Larry used the knowledge that he'd gained in the class to build his own 4-foot cruising trimaran, which he still owns and sails to this day.

This clip comes from the audio series entitled, "MULTIHULL CONVERSATIONS WITH JIM BROWN."

You can either listen to this audio clip on the YouTube (below), or download the short MP3 of this clip about Larry's cruising trimaran at OutRigMedia.
